Bath Ensemble Accents

Little accents to enhance your bath ensemble gifts.

Bath Potpourri
Bath potpourri can be made from purchased potcpourri and borax.
Borax is available on the grocery store  ( twenty mule team borax) in the soap aisle.
  • Mix equal parts of borax and potpourri.
  • Put in a tightly covered container and let it blend for about 2 weeks.
  • Tie a teaspoon of this mixture into a coffee filter or organza bag. tied with string
Put this into a Knitted Bath Potpourri Bag.
Let this  hang  from the water tap in the bath. The steam will release the fragrance and gently scents your bath.

Knitted Bath Potpourri Bags:
  • Take a mug rug or small washcloth pattern.
  • Knit two.
  • Sew up 3 sides completely. sides and bottom, leave the top open.
  • Take a length of ribbon, at least 8" and sew into the corners at the top, close all but the center 3" of the bag closed.
  • Put potpourri into the bag, you may keep this open and switch out potpourris as necessary.
If you use a lacey open pattern, make a pocket for the potpourri out of a colored satin fabric, sew up the bag completely with the potpourri inside. Slip this bag into the knitted bath bag and follow the directions above.

Pictures and patterns  specifically for bath potpourri bags are coming, next month. I just made my potpourri this week out of roses and lavender potpourri from my garden that I had collected and dried.

Note: The heart sachet pattern on : http:keeping-you-in-stitches.blogspot.com  click on the free patterns section, is perfect for a bath potpourri bag.
